Chlorophyllin: Add health to yourself

If the day comes when I see with my own eyes in the clinic in the queue to an otolaryngologist a miserable koala, complaining of a sore throat and a weakened immune system, I will stop believing in the healing power of eucalyptus. But such a day will not ever come, so my faith is firm. After all, the wise koalas munching eucalyptus leaves day and night will never complain about their life.

For many centuries, eucalyptus deservedly got a lot of very flattering epithets: in Australia it is called a "tree of life", "tree of miracles" and "diamond of forests." The leaves of this precious tree have medicinal properties and are a mine of useful substances: they contain macro-(potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron) and trace elements (manganese, copper, zinc, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium, aluminum, barium, selenium, nickel, strontium, lead, iodine, boron), to 10% of tannins, bitter substances, resins, organic acids, volatile, 1,5-3% of essential oils. The composition of essential oil contains cineole (up to 80%), pinene, mirtenol and such aldehydes as izovalerian, cumin, nylon and caprylic aldehydes . Therefore it is not surprising that products based on extracts from the leaves of the eucalyptus, which have powerful antibacterial (especially against staphylococci and are resistant to antibiotics), anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity, are widely used in medical practice.

Antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect of an extract of eucalyptus leaves opened vast opportunities of its use in the treatment of acute respiratory viral infections, sore throats, respiratory diseases, burns, trophic ulcers, intestinal microflora, cervical erosion in the complex treatment of postoperative, postpartum bacterial complications, rehabilitation staphylococcus-vectors, in the treatment of stomatitis, etc.

Especially often an extract from the leaves of eucalyptus is found in anti-cough preparations, which is quite natural, because the "season of colds” in our latitudes lasts for many months: beginning in early autumn, it is rampant throughout winter and even in some part of spring. And during all this time we are usually preoccupied with looking for effective anti-cough preparations which are not only therapeutic but also preventive.

Employees of “Pharmaceutical Company "Vertex" Ltd.” together with specialists from “Experimental Plant “GNCLS”, Ltd.”, wishing to rid their countrymen of the need to fly to Australia and chew fresh eucalyptus leaves there, created a wonderful dietary additive “Tablets for suction “Chlorophyllin” manufactured on the base of an extract from these leaves. The composition of the preparation includes (besides the extract from the eucalyptus leaves) fructose, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), as well as magnesium stearate or calcium stearate.

Biologically active substances of this dietary additive are necessary for normal body functioning. Essential oils of eucalyptus, the bulk of which is eucalyptol (cineole), as well as specially introduced into the dietary additive “Chlorophyllin” ascorbic acid, are directly involved in the formation of antioxidant status and enhance resistance to adverse environmental influences. Eucalyptol has a powerful oxidising action and, in fact, this is due to its disinfectant effect.

The second active ingredient of a dietary additive "Chlorophyllin” is ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which is also very important. Vitamin C is involved in many redox processes of the human body, it helps activate the immune system, normalize the tissue respiration and as a consequence, enhance the protective mechanisms of the body.

Vitamin C is involved in the synthesis of collagen, the intercellular "cementing" substance, which provides the muscles, vascular tissues, bones and cartilage. Vitamin C is also necessary for healthy teeth and gums, and promotes the absorption of iron from the food consumed. It is also necessary for the synthesis of bile acids. In addition, the study showed that vitamin C is involved in the synthesis of several important hormones and neurotransmitters.

With insufficient intake of ascorbic acid in the body we may observe fatigue, decreased appetite, weakened immunity, the emergence of small bruises on the skin due to increased permeability of the vascular wall, bleeding gums, scurvy, anemia. As it is known, a healthy adult person needs 70-100 mg of this vitamin daily. Amount of ascorbic acid in a daily dose of “Chlorophyllin” is 107 - 143% of the adequate level of a daily consumption. "Chlorophyllin" is recommended for use as a dietary additive to the diet, as an additional source of vitamin C and the amount of chlorophyll from the leaves of eucalyptus. "Chlorophyllin” is an excellent tonic preparation for reducing the risk of upper respiratory tract diseases, it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. The use of this dietary additive enhances the nonspecific defensive forces of the body, reduces fatigue and eliminates asthenia. It is worth mentioning that the presence of fructose instead of sugar in “Chlorophyllin”can be used as an additive and by diabetic patients.

So the best prevention of cold during seasonal epidemics is the use of a dietary additive "Chlorophyllin”.
I wish you be healthy!
